A Summer Wedding at The Rye
Set against the industrial blank canvas setting of the Rye, this July wedding was a beautiful celebration of summer at its softest. Thoughtfully designed to feel organic and unforced, the florals embraced an airy, undone wildflower aesthetic—romantic, textural, and effortlessly elegant.
A Natural, Seasonal Approach
From the very beginning, the intention was nothing overly structured or overly polished—just a quiet, natural flow that mirrors how flowers grow in the garden. Each piece was composed with movement and negative space in mind, allowing every bloom to breathe and be appreciated. The palette stayed intentionally soft and nuanced. Layers of whites and ivory were warmed with hints of creamy beige and buttercream yellow, and grounded with soft greens. The result was a colour story that felt calm, elevated, and perfectly suited to a midsummer celebration.
Floral Story & Textures
Seasonality played a key role in shaping the overall look. The designs focused on smaller, more delicate blooms to create airiness and texture, including locally sourced cosmos, queen anne lace, agrostemma, lisianthus, scabiosa and orlaya. In select larger ground pieces, fuller blooms like roses and dahlias were introduced to anchor the designs while still maintaining that relaxed feel. Planner Deidre from Cools Events beautifully chose and styled the ceramics, linens, and candles, which the florals complemented perfectly to create an organic, effortless atmosphere. The overall effect was romantic without being fussy, elevated without feeling overdone—flowers that felt lived-in, natural, and deeply intentional.
